Rated #2 of the best, the Mohegan Sun resort has three casinos to choose from. The Casino of the Sky, the Casino of the Earth, and the Casino of the Wind are all excellent establishments that offer 5,000 slot machines combined, as well as 200+ game tables and two smoke-free areas. Sunrise Square is a favorite area within the resort, which is an Asian-inspired market that provides traditional games for the table, like Pai Gow Poker and Sic Bo, also known as hi-lo, which is a game of chance played with three dice.
Up for a round of golf? Try out the new 18-hole course, which offers challenging angles. You’ll be able to grab a brew afterwards at the pub, and get back to the game floors to enjoy your night with ease, since the course is on-site.
For a beautiful fine-dining experience, try out Michael Jordan’s Steakhouse. It delivers true “steaksmanship” with a decadent menu selection. Start off with MJ Garlic Bread, served with a Blue Cheese Fondue. For dinner, try MJ’s USDA Prime Delmonico, dry-aged for 45 days, with the truffle parmesan crust. The steak is served with a ginger-balsamic vinegar jus. At Michael Jordan’s Steakhouse, it is eloquently put, “our passion and commitment is to elevate the food and dining experience to the Michael Jordan level. It’s in everything we do, and it’s only here.”
The Mohegan always hosts concerts, live comedy specials, and more throughout the year. Look for Josh Groban, Ice-T, and Jeff Dunham in July! Fridays are hosted by a DJ for eclectic and upbeat spins on classics and hits from today’s best artists. There is so much to do within the resort, that it can be hard to adequately plan. Make sure you research upcoming events when booking your stay. Dance the night away, or enjoy dinner and a show at the theater, and don’t forget to save time to play some games, of course!
